Old-style BB removers could be damaging your frame

We see a lot of damaged bottom bracket shells due to the old style BB remover gouging into the carbon.

The old style removal tools (below, left) were never really intended for carbon, and are more suited to knocking alloy cups out.

We recommend one of the newer generation of BB removal tools (above, right) designed specifically for press fit bottom brackets.

It has a much larger surface contact area, and cuts out any risk of damaging the bottom bracket or the surrounding carbon.

The newer style tool usually retails at £20-25, nothing too frightening, and well worth the investment.
